Still teaching in Florida after 36 years and still getting brochitus (a condition left over from cold Michigan days and my parents' 2nd hand smoke...) As a result I missed the reunion. I am so sorry. For anyone who has tried to contact me on classmates.com, I am too cheap to go gold so I just get a blur for your message. Let's see,  still teaching, still coughing, still short, still married to Rick after 36 years, still a mom of Keith and a grandmother of 3... I did get a doctorate in 2002, so I am also an adjunct professor online at Nova Southeastern University teaching teachers to teach. You can see my website at docmelillo.wordpress.com. Any other details do not really matter, because I have no complaints. Life has been good. I REALLY hope it has been for you as well.

Kudos to the planning committee!!! What a great event! You did a superb job.

I had a blast and loved every moment - a great chance to rekindle old friendships and make new ones.
Loved the tour, brunch and evening....so glad I attended!!
Hope to stay in touch with my classmates.
Fond regards to all,

Hi Everyone!
I must say that after months of planning this, I feel so very fortunate to have worked with THE BEST group of people:  Your reunion committee.   I cannot say enough about Julie Booth and her leadership.  She always stayed on track and guided us in a way that created an atmosphere where we wanted to do whatever was needed!  She followed up on everything that needed to be followed up on and didn't miss a beat!  And we all worked so well together and genuinely liked each other...(in good part the mark of effective leadership!).
The party was great and it was so interesting to me to talk to people that I thought didn't know or remember me.  And in some cases they didn't know me but it was so nice conversing anyways!
CLASS OF "69" - YOU ARE SO FINE!!!  May be all take these wonderful memories with us until we meet again....Cindi

Greg said it well - it was the best time ever! Thanks to the committee and all their associated helpers - it was the best!  I listened to my CD n the way home and only had to brake once for a state trooper while cranking it up and getting a bit carried away with the speed...:)

I loved, loved, loved it!

Wow! It was 37 years since the last time I was in Southfield and/or Michigan.  It was so great to reconnect and spend some new time with some of the most indelibly wonderful and special friends for whom I owe deep appreciation and love for being who you are and for our most wonderful adventures together. I hope there are the opportunities for more! It was also incredibly special to connect with many of you who were less known or uknown to me in that capsule of time. I must say that coming from NJ, I often felt like I was visiting another planet.

Great thanks and kudos to the committee for a spectacular event! Great thanks and appreciation to Russ, Mike, John & Lieb for some fabulous toons to get us on our feet and shake that thing to make us feel even better!

For all who wish, please stay in touch. If you are in the NJ/NY area, Morristown (the other Motown) & I are 35 mi due west of Manhattan and easily traveled to and/or from each by direct train or car. If you are going down to my other most magical world - Disney World, let me know! I may be there too (probably more frequently than most would admit) Also, since my oldest son works there, I am sure he would love to bestow some magical moments on you and yours! Thanks Again!!  Gregg B.

What a great time I had at the reunion.  A few people have sent me pix and I will post them to the www.shs68.info site after I get a few more.  I have LOTS of space there so feel free to use it with any pages or pictures that you want to send me.  The site will handle most MS based internet code.  Also, those of you that have website, send me a link and I will post it to the "Classmate Sites" link on the front page.  BTW, anybody "crashing" the 70 reunion?  LOL!!

Thank you so much to the planning committee for all your hard work, energy (alittle adreneline) and warm greetings.

We all had a most wonderful time and I'm hoping that some of us will keep the connections we made after 40 years apart.

I would like to be involved with the next  reunion after all of you recoup.

with much love and admiration,

To all,
My heartfelt greeting to everyone for a life lived well.  Although we may have experienced a few bumps along the way, remember we built much character too!  Unfortunately I am unable to attend as I will be in Grand Rapids, MI for important transition with my daughter and two grandchildren.  I lived in Grand Rapids for 25 year but now live in Union, Michigan.  I am in transition to sell my home and relocate once again to the Grand Rapids area.  I embrace all memories and friends.  Take care until next time and remember, life isn't over yet!

In my May posting I mentioned I may not be able to attend.  Sadly, that has proven to be true.  I am overseas and can't make it back.  I hope you all have a terrific time.  Thanks to the committee for all the hard work and efforts to put together what I am sure will be a first class event.   I will make every effort to make the next reunion...who said retirement was a time to relax and take life easy???  Best wishes Larry

I'm sorry not to be able to attend the reunion.  My wife went to her 40th in Indiana and had a great time.  With this message, I hope to be promoted from the "lost" list to being "found."  I've lived in Oregon and now eastern Washington since leaving Michigan in 1977.  Ain't life grand!?!

So I tell Lance to write something in the 69 website.. say hello or whatever.  He tells me to write it for him.  I ask him what he wants me to write.  He says "It doesn't matter, I'll just deny it anyway!"

But we did discuss a Friday Night get together.  I think someone started a rumor that the 69 class was meeting on the 9th at Doc's Sports Retreat.  Sounds good to me!

Howdy, ya'll!  Guess I joined Facebook just in time.  Had no clue abut the reunion until this weekend.  As it happens, I have been living in Texas -Dallas area- for almost 20 years and while I spend part of my time at our cottage in Charlevoix, I am probably not going to be able to make the reunion.  Sigh.

My husband of 25 years, Roy, and I are retired from the healthcare business (just in time it, would seem) and our 2 kids are in various stages of their own academic pursuits.  Our daughter recently graduated from Kalamazoo College and is applying to U Michigan for her PhD so our ties to Michigan are still strong.  I am still fond of skiing and have developed an avid interest in golf.  Have a wonderful time at the reunion!  Would love to hear from anyone who remembers me....after all, we did have a large class....

I won't be able to attend the reunion because of a schedule conflict, but it will be fun to see this site fill up with statements about old friends.  This is the first contact I've received about any kind of a reunion for our class of '69.  But then I was born in '51 and probably wouldn't recall if I had.

Since 1969 I was married briefly and for two years I lived in Des Moines, Iowa.  I got divorced and moved back to Michigan where I met my current husband two years later.  He is in the dry cleaning business with a chain of stores in the tri-county area called Mai Kai Cleaners.  We opened Plaza Deli together, owned it for 10 years and sold it when I was pregnant with our daughter, Alexandra.  Alexandra, now 24 is a graduate from Michigan State University.  My husband and I wanted to open another restaurant and when we decided to do this in 1996 and I named it after him.  The restaurant business has become quite a passion of mine including catering and presentation techniques.  I am very proud of it and work there everyday.  We just opened our 2nd location in Chicago, and is a huge success in the city!  My hopes are to expand Steve's again and we are thinking Miami.  But my biggest success in my life is our daughter Alexandra, she is a fantastic girl and I am so proud of her.  She works as a Sales Representative for Medtronic selling medical instrumentation for spinal fusions and deformities at Beaumont Hospital.  I also have two Labrador retrievers that I am madly in love with named  Mikey and Max.  I also love to read and travel to new and interesting places.  My husband and I share a very special bond and have a very close relationship and love to do many activities together.  I guess I have to say that I found someone who actually "gets" me..which is not easy to find these days!  I wish that I could attend the festivities, but it is my husbands 67th birthday and we are celebrating out of town..I hope to make our 50th!   My warmest wishes to all my classmates of '69 and I hope the reunion is a huge success!

Hi Everyone,

I'm so disappointed that I won't be able to visit and catch up with old friends at the reunion.  A family commitment has us going out of town that weekend.

Since high school, I have been teaching 4th grade in Southfield.  (24 years at Adler Elem.)
The kids love to hear that I graduated from SHS.

Have a great time at the reunion!
