What have you been doing for the last 10 years?: I moved to Denver after finishing med school in Ann Arbor; I've remained here since then. After leaving academic medicine in the late 1980's, I practice part time while running a large single specialty allergy and asthma group. That leaves time for the more important things. I've always enjoyed the outdoors and Colorado offers so much: skiing, fishing, hiking, biking, boating. I've kept up with music, still drumming, but returned to the piano as well. I'm sure it will be Lisa Silvers disappointment to hear that I never took up the violin again. Pretty active with Jewish philantropy. I've been married for 22 years (wife #2) and have 3 children (1 currently living in Jerusalem not too far away from Rabbi Rick Dembs)and 2 grandchildren. Still keep up with many old buds from HS in Detroit and around the country.

I couldn't have predicted any of it when we graduated from high school.
I've been married for 28 years to a woman I met in Ann Arbor in 1973. Our daughter and son are now 23 and 19 years old.

Occupation: Court Reporter
Marital Status: Married
No. of Children: 2
What is your Guest's name?: Mike Alexander
What have you been doing for the last 10 years?: Following graduation from SHS and after a short-lived
"career" at Creem Magazine (working alongside writer and co-classmate, Jaan Uhelszki), I left the world of rock & roll and married my husband, Michael Alexander. Over the past 34 years, we raised two great kids, remaining in the same square mile I'd lived in since I was 10. When my kids were very young, I became a freelance court reporter, enabling me to enjoy the best of both worlds -- gainful employment and the ability to participate in all the typical parental duties/activities. I've had my own court reporting business for over 20 years. My son, Brian-32, recently finished a year-long White House Fellowship, returning to Harvard to complete the final 9 months of his residency in radiation oncology, following which he will stay on at Harvard as faculty practicing at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham & Women's Hospital. He was married last year. My daughter, Brooke-29, graduated from Boston University School of Law and remained in Boston where she works as an attorney in the health care field and enjoys city life. My pride is obvious. As for me, I love spending time with friends and family, taking bike rides to get ice cream (the calories don't count when you bike there), reading, being on the water, long walks, Detroit Lions (really), traveling to Boston to visit my kids (the Duck Tours, the Harbor & Quincy Market) and just relaxing in our wooded backyard in Beverly Hills, Michigan. Life doesn't get much better than this!
From Leslie: Working on the reunion has been so much fun! It's generated so many memories of Northbrook, Birney, SHS & so many people from the past. I'm looking forward to seeing people on October 10th! Everyone on the committee has worked so hard. It's been great to get to know them!

What have you been doing for the last 10 years?: After high school I graduated from Michigan State and immediately married the wrong guy. Luckily we had the right kids (Todd and Ryan, now 33 and 30) and after 5 years as a single mom, married Beau (Robert) in 1985. We raised Todd and Ryan and had our two other sons, Alex and Eric along the way, as well. There was actually one other female in our house for 8 1/2 years - our St. Bernard, Yogi. Our 2 oldest sons and sweet grandson Landon live in Tempe and Chandler AZ and our family can take substantial credit for keeping Southwest Airlines in business. Alex is doing a Masters at MSU (Go Spartans!) in digital media and Eric is a hockey playing junior business major at GVSU (Go Lakers!). Over the last 3 years, my husband has traded in his 19 year old technical training business for a law degree and a private practice in criminal defense. After college I spent 10 years as an actor, taught kindergarten/1st grade for 15 years and got a Masters in Learning Disabilities from Wayne State in 2000. I'm currently teaching elementary special ed. And though we've exchanged Russian novels of letters and emails of our lives over the years, Sandy Melillo (Mansfield) and I just saw each other for the first time since her wedding in '73 when I visited her in Florida in May this year...we had a blast and she looks the SAME!!! Lucky to say life is great and looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion.

From Carol: I married in 1972 and was a SAHM. During those years of PTA I became active in community politics and served 16 years on my local school board. I also finally decided to finish college and received a BS in Public Administration in 1998. I work now as a Vol. Coord. at a state psychiatric hospital. 3 years ago I lost 68# and took up running. I always wanted to be a jock. I love my 3 grandkids to pieces and appreciate my only job is to enjoy them.

What have you been doing for the last 10 years?: I moved from Southfield 2 years before graduation but I had lived there since 2nd grade and really missed the people at SHS. I'd sure like to come.
Ron, Phil, Carol, Bill who have already posted were among the wonderful folks that I knew back in the day. I am still best frinds with Rich Davio, class of 68, who lived across the street from me - we've been friends since we were 6 years old.
I sure hope folks like Bruce Stoker, Jeff Farland,Joe Pepelian, Dave Chambers, Bill Schlaff, Bill Nagler,
Dave Laurie, Tom Hubbard and other old friends can be found.
I've been retired for about 6 years.
I volunteer in all kinds of interesting
things from tall ship sailing and emergency management activities to many projects involving historical preservation.
I have such great memories of Magnolia, Brace, Lederle and the HS.
I can't wait to see you folks.
